Acer’s new Predator 21 X is the world’s first fierce curved display gaming laptop that weighs 17 pounds, or around 8 kilograms and measures 568 x 314.5 x 83.25mm (WxDxH). It comes with an amazing range of superlative specs in a not so entirely-portable package. “With unlocked potential follows unrivaled evolution. A new era of curved has begun and the Predator 21 X leads the way,” notes the company. The most obvious feature of the Predator 21 X is its monstrous 21-inch IPS curved display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels and LED illumination. For gamers looking to spend hours in front of their laptop, the Predator 21 X is the perfect option. It also features integrated Tobii eye-tracking technology, as the company explains: “To bring gameplay immersion to the next level, the notebook also integrates Tobii eye-tracking technology for a new method of control that’s more intuitive and natural. Built-in eye-tracking hardware (infrared sensors and software) unlocks a completely new facet in gaming. By tracking a gamer’s eye with software, the notebook introduces new interactions like aiming, identifying enemies and taking cover simply by gazing at objects on the screen. Eye tracking also enhances the experience by providing infinite views whilst navigating treacherous paths and roads in a game.” Further, the Predator 21 X offers some pretty interesting specs, including the yet-to-be-released Intel Core i7 processor from the Kaby Lake series. It also includes dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards in SLI, promising “unmatched graphics performance”. The Predator 21 X quite a powerhouse with five cooling fans, which Acer says will “dissipate excess heat effectively for uninterrupted performance”. It also offers four DD4 slots and 64GB of RAM. It includes two GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI, and has up to 4TB of SSD storage with RAID-0 support. It also has an HD webcam, full-size mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX key switches and RGB backlighting, a number pad that flips over into a precision touchpad, and a 4.2 audio system. While Acer hasn’t disclosed the cost of Predator 21 X – but with a list of specs and features like these, you can bet that it won’t be cheap when it launches early next year.
