For those unaware, the Google Phone app is pre-installed as a standard application on Pixel, Android One devices, and select Xiaomi smartphones sold in Europe. However, this app can now be directly installed from the Play Store on selected non-Pixel and non-Android One devices that include the “com.google.android.dialer.support” shared library to be able to install and run the app. To check if your phone has this library required for a successful installation, you can run following the ADB shell command, XDA notes. The reports claim that the app can now be downloaded and installed on ASUS Zenfone 6 (running latest ZenUI update), Oppo Find X2 Pro (running Color OS 7.1), LG V60 ThinQ, etc. However, it is still not available for download on Galaxy S20, S10, Note10 series or the OnePlus 7 and 6 series, as per user reports. On devices that the app can be installed, users will get access to features such as Assisted dialing, Caller ID & spam, and Nearby places. However, features like Call Screen that is exclusive to Pixel phones are not available for other devices.
