For those unfamiliar, HMD Global has struck a 10-year brand licensing agreement with Nokia for manufacturing smartphones running Android as well as feature phones and tablets under the Nokia brand. Talking to the FoneArena, Ajey Mehta, Vice President India at HMD Global, revealed that the company is planning to manufacture the new handsets in India right from the beginning in collaboration with Foxconn. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 phones are said to be available through offline as well as online stores. These smartphones are aimed to target the budget segment considering the price range. HMD will have a greater focus on after sales services and will have a network of service centres across India. The pricing of the three Android smartphones will be similar to its European pricing. For instance, the all-new Nokia 3 is priced at EUR 139 (approx Rs. 9,800), Nokia 5 is priced at EUR 189 (approx Rs. 13,500) and Nokia 6 has been priced at EUR 229 (approx Rs. 16,000). But, the prices for India could be lower as the company is looking to make these phones locally that could reduce the import duties. On the other hand, the revamped version of the iconic Nokia 3310 feature phone has been priced at EUR 49 (approx Rs. 3,500).
